Due to its austenitic structure, it offers great creep, stress to rupture, and high tensile strength at higher temperatures. This grade is stabilized to sensitization. It leads to the formation of grain boundary precipitation in temperature between 900 deg F to 1500 deg F that results in rapid corrosion. The stabilization against sensitization can be achieved by intermittent temperature heat treatment process, so the titanium reacts with carbon to form titanium carbides. These are manufactured using both hot and cold working processes. In addition to the heat treatment process, its structure gets refined that furnishes its dimensional accuracy and surface finish.
